In 2021 the ANU Annual will be held in a different format than it has been in the past, due to the current unusual circumstances. We will be holding open events in all three weapons over three separate weeks, with the poules taking place on Tuesday nights, and the elimination on Sundays. In light of this, the competition will be free for all ANU Fencing Club members, and 5$ per weapon for non-club entrants.

Key Information

Tuesday 8th September - Epee Poules
Sunday 13th September - Epee Elimination

Tuesday 15th September - Foil Poules
Sunday 20th September - Foil Elimination

Tuesday 22nd September - Sabre Poules
Sunday 27th September - Sabre Elimination

Time: Poules to start at 7.45pm, registration closed at 7.30pm. DE to start at 11.45am, registration closed at 11.30am.

Location: New Hall, ANU Sport, 40 North Road, Acton, ACT.

Cost: Free entry for all paid members of ANUFC, $5 per weapon otherwise.

Safety and equipment requirements: Normal ANU safety rules apply. Breeches recommended for all events. Conductive bibs will be required for open foil. If you would like to borrow gear from the ANU fencing club, please speak with a member of the committee in advance of the competition.

What if I can’t make it on one of the days? If you can’t attend the poules on Tuesday, you can still enter the competition, and you will be seeded in last place for the elimination. If you can’t attend the elimination on Sunday your result will be a 15-0 loss in your first DE bout.

You can register your participation for the ANU annual using the entry form below. Entering via this method will allow the DT to determine the number of pistes and referees required for each competition. Once you have entered, please ensure that you:

  • Pay the entry fee to the DT on the day of the competition if required

  • Arrive at least 15 minutes before the start time

  • Advise the DT if you will be late (the competition may start without you)

  • Check that you have all the required equipment

  • Check your equipment for faults
