Fencing at ANU

Our training programme has been developed as part of ANU Sport’s "Excellence in Sport" program.  We are one of the first ANU sporting clubs to participate in the Excellence in Sport programme, and with ANU Sport's help we're going to create an environment that allows you to achieve your goals—whether they are social or competitive. We're interested to hear about your personal fencing goals, so we can help you achieve them. Come and talk to a member of the committee, or to one of the club coaches.

The club offers a comprehensive training programme and calendar of events, which include open, veteran and novice level competitions; social outings; and intensive training workshops. Our training programme has been developed our Excellence in Sport Officer, in consultation with Antonio Signorello, National Fencing Coach, and the club coaches.

We also hold an end of year awards function to acknowledge members who have made a significant contribution to the club, and to celebrate the first and second place fencers of our club competition circuit. Details are available on the competitions page.

ANUFC members and visitors must abide by the Club’s Code of Conduct.

Beginners

We run introductory fencing courses at the start of each semester. We had a great response from the first Semester course. Details for the next course are available on the beginner course page.

Visiting Fencers

Fencers from outside the club are welcome to participate in the club’s regular training sessions, although you will need to be affiliated with your state fencing association. Visiting fencers will need to abide by the Club’s Visitors Policy.
